Brief Description / Project Purpose

PET CITY Group, one of the largest companies in the pet product industry in Greece, entrusted our company with the implementation of a complete and reliable network system at their new logistics center. The project’s goal was to ensure full coverage of the warehouse and office spaces to guarantee:

• The uninterrupted operation of the WMS (Warehouse Management System), and
• Reliable daily work for employees in a demanding environment with long distances and significant physical obstacles (shelves, loads, etc.).

Tools / Equipment Adopted

The installation included both wireless infrastructure and an overall network architecture to support all operational needs.

• Wireless Network
  • Fortinet Access Points were strategically placed throughout the area based on a heatmap study to cover all storage and work areas.
  • Placement was optimized to address obstacles such as tall metal shelves and long distances.
• Central Network Infrastructure
  • A FortiNet Firewall was installed for security, traffic control, and interconnection with external and internal systems.
  • A central rack was implemented for the network’s core, while two additional auxiliary racks were created in remote parts of the building due to distances. Interconnections between them were made via fiber optics, ensuring high speed and reliability.
